UP News: The country's second largest expressway will be built in Uttar Pradesh, toll plazas will be set up at these 15 places

Hr Mandi Bhav (UP News): Before Mahakumbh 2025 in Uttar Pradesh, the country's second longest Ganga Expressway will be ready. 

The length of Ganga Expressway will be 594 km, which will be the second longest expressway in the country after Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway.

The state with the highest number of expressways in India is Uttar Pradesh. Six expressways are working here and construction of seven expressways is currently going on. 

Now there are four expressways in UP, but with the operationalization of Ganga Expressway, UP will have five expressways in the top 10 expressways of the country.

Chief Minister Yogi has given clear orders

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recently given a clear order to UPEDA officials to operationalize the Ganga Expressway by the end of the year. 

This expressway will pass through 518 villages in 12 districts, connecting the state from east to west. After its construction, the distance from Meerut to Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli and Pratapgarh and Prayagraj can be covered in a few hours.

Ganga Expressway will start from Bijauli village on Meerut-Bulandshahr (NH 334) and end near Judapur Dadu village on Prayagraj (NH-19). The value of this expressway project to be built on 7467 hectares of land is Rs 36,230 crore.

Big planes will be able to land on Ganga and Ramganga, two long bridges will be built

Initially, Ganga Expressway will be expanded from six lanes to eight lanes. Its achieved speed will be 120 km per hour. Nine public convenience complexes will be built on the expressway.

Whereas, main toll plazas (Meerut and Prayagraj) are proposed at two places, while ramp toll plazas are proposed at 15 places. Apart from this, big bridges on Ramganga river (720 m) and on Ganga river (960 m) will also be built.

A 3.50 km long airstrip will also be built near Jalalabad tehsil of Shahjahanpur. During the Ganga Expressway project, 141 out of 153 no-objections received from four major departments have been received. Big companies like M/s IRB Infrastructure and M/s Adani Infrastructure are involved in building the Ganga Expressway.
