Recently, car companies have presented their sales report for the month of February and it shows that many cars made in India are currently making a splash in foreign markets. This is the reason why the demand for Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Honda cars is continuously increasing in the export market.

However, car exports witnessed a decline of 10.51 per cent year-on-year in February 2024. Many recently launched cars like Honda Elevate and Maruti Suzuki Frontx have received a good response globally. Let's take a look at the list of some of the top cars exported in February 2024.

Total Car Exports 

Total car exports in the past month stood at 60,767 units, down 10.51 per cent from 67,907 units shipped in February 2023. This was a decline of 7,140 units.

Maruti Baleno became number 1 

Maruti Baleno led the passenger vehicle exports with 5,110 units shipped last month, up 43.86 per cent as compared to 3,552 units exported in February 2023. Baleno currently holds an 8.41 per cent share in this list.

Export of Maruti Dzire 

Maruti's Dzire also saw exports of 4,474 units last month, up 90.22 per cent from 2,352 units exported in February 2023.

Jimny exports 

Next comes the Jimny, which has seen a growth of 440500 percent year-on-year. Its global demand has increased to 4,406 units last month, up from only 1 unit exported in February 2023. The Maruti Jimny 5-door has seen high demand in countries like Latin America, Middle East and Africa.

Export of Honda Elevate 

Honda Elevate, launched in September 2023, shipped 3,610 units last month. With this, it secured the number-4 position in the export list with a share of 5.94 percent.

Exports of Maruti Swift

This was followed by the Maruti Swift, which nearly doubled its exports to ship 3,590 units in February 2024 from 1,823 units sold in February 2023, registering a 96.93 per cent YoY growth.

Exports of Hyundai Grand i10 and Verna 

The Hyundai Grand i10 showed year-on-year growth with exports of 3,480 units last month, up 45.51 per cent year-on-year, while the Verna also witnessed a growth of 54.93 per cent year-on-year to 3,475 units in February 2024.

Exports of Grand Vitara, Frontex, Honda City 

The Grand Vitara also topped the export list with a 170.61 percent year-on-year growth. Its exports improved by 3,204 units. The New Fronx entered the list with 2,443 units exported last month, while Honda City exports grew 197.40 percent to 2,290 units, up from just 770 units shipped in February 2023.

Exports of Nissan Sunny and Hyrider 

Nissan Sunny exports declined 41.46 per cent to 2,204 units while Toyota Hyrider exports grew 453.31 per cent to 1,920 units last month from 347 units shipped in February 2023.

Exports of Aura, Spresso, Celerio 

Aura achieved positive growth with 91.75 percent YoY exports at 1,394 units. Sales of the Spesso fell 21.87 percent to 1,179 units, while Celerio exports fell 47.94 percent to 1,050 units.
