According to departmental sources, along with the wheat and rice available from February, the Central Government will provide one more thing for free. Those taking free ration will benefit greatly from this.
In fact, under the free ration scheme, the central government will provide coarse grains along with wheat and rice for free. The department has also decided the quantity of food grains to be given to which card holder. Now only waiting for the date of distribution of ration.
Millet will be distributed at shops
Under Shri Anna Yojana, the Central Government will distribute millet as coarse grain along with wheat and rice to the poor. This millet will be distributed along with wheat and rice at government ration shops.
In this, Antyada card holders were earlier given 21 kg rice and 14 kg wheat, in its place nine kg wheat and five kg market will be given.
Earlier, two-three rice and two kilos of wheat were given per unit, but in February, one kilo of wheat and one kilo of market will be given. Only three kg rice will be given per unit.
Government will make people aware about coarse grains
It is a big decision of the government to provide coarse grains to the poor along with wheat and rice. Under this new system, the quantity of rice in the ration given to card holders has been reduced and coarse grains have been included in its place. In fact, the government is emphasizing on promoting coarse grains in the diet.
The government is now also preparing to make people aware about coarse grains. For this, the government will also organize government programs at various places and will also tell people about the benefits of coarse grains.
Bareilly DSO Neeraj Singh said that under the Central Government scheme, along with the wheat and rice being distributed to the poor, now coarse grains will also be given.
Ration card holders will get millet among coarse grains. He told that one kg millet will be given per unit. Whereas on Antyodaya card, five kg millet will be distributed per card. Similarly, orders for distribution of millet have also come in Hardoi, Badaun and Mirzapur. Here also the card holders will be given food along with wheat and rice.
However, DSO has refused to distribute coarse grains in Lakhimpur Kheri. He says that he has not yet received any order to distribute coarse grains.
Pilibhit DSO said that there is a process to distribute millet in the city, although millet has not been purchased yet. Millet will be procured from other districts for distribution.
