Hr Mandi Bhav (UP News): A new system of physical verification of Gram Sabha land has been started in Uttar Pradesh. On Saturday, Consolidation Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar has issued an order in this regard.

According to the order, the Consolidation Officer and the Tehsildar of the concerned tehsil will together conduct physical inspection once in every three months and thrice in a year. Settlement Officer Consolidation and Deputy District Magistrate of the concerned Tehsil together will conduct physical inspection once every six months and twice a year.

District Magistrate and District Deputy Director Consolidation will conduct physical inspection once every year. The authority mentioned in the timetable on the specified format will send the physical verification report to the Directorate.

This order states that the land vested in the Gram Sabha account in the villages of Consolidation Prasar is almost already encroached upon when the consolidation begins. Moreover, during consolidation, Gram Sabha land is purchased irregularly and divided into chakkas.

No land is given to the Gram Sabha or a chak is created against it. Due to continuation of consolidation activities for a long time during consolidation, encroachment on the Gram Sabha land through illegal orders also causes huge damage to the Gram Sabha land. Now in the new system, the above officers will do physical verification of the Gram Sabha land and will report how much is the encroached land and how much is the vacant land.
