HR Mandi Bhavb News, Digital Desk -  If you too are troubled by the long lines at toll plazas despite having Fastag in your vehicle, then there is great news for you. Actually, the National Highway Authority has issued a guideline ( NHAI Guidelines) that even during the peak time of vehicles, the time taken by a vehicle should not be more than 10 seconds.

That is, it should not take more than 10 seconds for a vehicle to pass at the toll plaza. However, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has said that after the implementation of Fastag, the crowd at toll plazas has reduced significantly.

There will be no tax on lines longer than 100 meters

According to NHIA, smooth flow of traffic is also being ensured by not forming queues of vehicles longer than 100 meters at the toll plaza.

If for any reason the queue of vehicles at the toll plaza exceeds 100 meters, then in that case all vehicles will be allowed to pass without paying toll, until the queue of vehicles reaches back within 100 meters from the toll plaza.

A yellow line will be drawn 100 meters away

An order has been given to make a line in yellow color to mark the distance of 100 meters at all toll points. This step has also been taken to create a sense of accountability among toll plaza operators.

NHIA has successfully implemented 100% cashless tolling in February 2021. The availability of Fastag at toll points has reached 96 percent overall and in many of them it has reached 99 percent.

What is NHIA's future plan?

Keeping in mind the increasing toll collection through electronic means in the country, emphasis will be laid on the size and construction of toll plazas keeping in mind the traffic projections during the next ten years so that the toll collection system can be made efficient.''

NHIA said. Said that due to Covid-19, social distancing has become a new rule. With the increasing use of Fastag, it is being easily followed due to which toll operators and vehicle passengers do not come in contact.
