HR Mandi Bhav, Digital Desk- New Delhi: The Central Government has given great news to the people taking LPG cylinders under PM Ujjwala Scheme. The government has increased the subsidy on LPG cylinder available under Ujjwala scheme to Rs 300.

This decision was taken by the government during the cabinet meeting. Earlier, under Ujjwala scheme, subsidy of Rs 200 was available on LPG cylinder. 

Now gas cylinder will be available for this much rupees

After getting a subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder from the Central Government, the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme in Delhi will get a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder for Rs 603. 

Beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme will get domestic LPG cylinder for Rs 602.50 in Mumbai, Rs 629 in Kolkata and Rs 618.50 in Chennai.

Crores of people will benefit

At present, the number of beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana across the country is 9.6 crore. Because of this, 9.6 crore people of the country will directly benefit from the increase in subsidy. Under PM Ujjwala Yojana, the government provides LPG cylinders to poor people at concessional rates. 

Government will provide 75 lakh additional connections 

Due to this, in the month of September, the Central Government had sanctioned Rs 1650 crore to provide 75 lakh LPG connections to oil marketing companies under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. 

This money will be used to provide new connections under the Ujjwala scheme. After giving 75 lakh new connections, the number of beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme will increase to 10.35 crore across the country. 

What is PM Ujjwala Yojana?

PM Ujjwala Yojana is a central government scheme. It was launched by PM Modi in the year 2016. In this, gas connections are given to people living below the poverty line.
