HR Mandi Bhav, Uttar Pradesh: Yogi government has taken important decisions to deal with flood disasters. Every year, 100 permanent flood shelters will be built in 18 flood affected districts of Uttar Pradesh. 

Yogi government will spend Rs 622 crore for this. Three thousand people can live in these permanent flood shelters. Yogi government had conducted a survey for this. 

It was revealed that 18 districts in the state are sensitive to floods and are most affected by floods and waterlogging every year.

Yogi government is continuously working to reduce floods, drought and other disasters and reduce loss of life. Yogi government has reduced the loss of life due to disasters in the last six and a half years. 

Even before the disaster, CM Yogi had given necessary guidelines to deal with it in a high-level meeting, said Relief Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar. Similarly, a survey was conducted in the area to deal with floods. 

The survey found that 18 districts of the state, Amroha, Azamgarh, Barabanki, Bijnor, Badaun, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Hardoi, Kannauj, Kasganj, Kheri, Kushinagar, Mau, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur and Unnao, are most affected by floods every year. 

Are more affected. More than two lakh people living in 702 villages in these districts are most affected by the floods. The survey described these districts as flood sensitive. Therefore, a need was felt to build 100 permanent flood shelters in these districts. The proposal was given to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, after which he ordered to take action. 

Permanent flood shelters will be built in three phases

On the instructions of CM Yogi, 100 permanent flood shelters have been constructed in three parts in 18 districts most affected by floods. This work has been done keeping in mind the local needs. 

In the first phase, permanent flood shelters will be built at ten vulnerable flood sites. Similarly, in the second and third phase, permanent flood shelters will be built at 45-45 sensitive places and in the third phase, permanent flood shelters will be built. These shelters will be constructed by PWD.

PWD has also sent a blue print of the design of the shelters to the relief department, in which the department has estimated the cost of constructing each shelter at Rs 6.2 crore. A two-storey flood shelter will be built in an area of ​​three thousand square meters. 

There will be arrangements to accommodate three hundred people affected by the flood in each shelter. They will also have food and other necessary facilities. 

Apart from this, the cattle of flood affected people will get safe place around the shelter, where they will be able to get fodder and other essential materials.
