Business Success Story: Left father's company with billions of profits, 'ghost' spoiled furniture business but did not give up
With the decision to take the business forward, Lim's father thought at every step that his daughter would take over the business in future. With this hope he recruited Lim into his company. But Lim was determined to do something else.

HR Mandi Bhav Plastic Waste Business: You must have heard Dushyant Kumar's lines 'Who says there cannot be a hole in the sky, friends, throw a stone with all your heart'. But a girl from Malaysia has turned it into reality.
If you choose a different path… then the feeling of traveling on it and achieving success cannot be expressed in words. Such is the story of 27 year old Abe Lim, a resident of Malaysia.
In fact, the trend of working outside the family business and creating their own identity has increased rapidly among the youth living in Asian countries.
Lim was determined to do something else
Abe Lim is also one of them. He decided to take a different path from the family. He left school at an early age and started working as a mechanic.
Whereas Lim's father had a big business in making soap and dishwashing liquid. With the decision to take the business forward, Lim's father thought at every step that his daughter would take over the business in future. With this hope he recruited Lim into his company. But Lim was determined to do something else.
While working with his father with the aim of preparing biofuel from plastic waste,
Lim was thinking of doing something different. While talking to Al Jazeera, she told that I wanted to do something different, but my father was focused on more profits.
Instead of paying attention to money, my focus was more on social and environmental things. Keeping this in mind, Lim started a research and development unit to prepare biofuel from plastic waste while working in his father's company.
Decided to move forward alone,
his father agreed and invested in it. Lim said that when he looked at it practically, it was not economically feasible and he refused to go ahead with it. After this, Lim decided to leave his father's company and move forward alone. He first started dealing in used furniture. Their objective here was to reduce waste by promoting recycling.
In 2021, Lim started Purpose Plastics
but Lim was not successful in it. Actually, the market there was not mature for this work. He told that there are many superstitions related to second hand furniture in Asian culture. People believe that 'ghosts' are attached to old furniture.
There, when old furniture is left behind and new furniture is bought, it is believed that it was left behind because of ghosts. In the year 2021, Lim started Purpose Plastics. Here, different things are prepared by recycling the plastic items used in the house.
His company produces home decor items, chess and furniture etc. from recycled materials. Lim said that now we are in profit. The largest orders we get are related to corporate gifts.
Lim said that our aim is to save the environment from harm rather than benefit. I have full hope that one day we will get great success in this. Today his business is doing well at the initial stage.
