These devices will consume so much electricity
If you want to know this, then first understand the meaning of unit. 1 unit means 1 kilowatt per hour, which means if any appliance of 1000 watts is used for 1 hour, then it consumes 1 unit of electricity.
Your house may have LED bulb, fan, AC, TV, fridge, tubelight, microwave oven, iron, washing machine, laptop and mixer (home electricity bill).
If 3 bulbs of 9 watts are lit for 10 hours, then 270 watts of electricity will be consumed. Similarly, if 4 fans of 60 watts are installed in the house and run for 12 hours, then 2880 watts of electricity will be consumed.
If a 1600 watt AC runs for 5 hours, it will consume 8000 watts of electricity. If there is a TV and it runs for 2 hours, it will consume 140 watts of electricity.
A 200 watt refrigerator will consume 1600 watts of electricity if it runs for 8 hours. If a 750 watt iron is used for half an hour, it will consume 375 units of electricity.
If your 50 watt laptop runs for 2 hours, it will consume 100 watts of electricity. In this way, you can find out about the electricity units on an hourly basis.
How much will be the electricity bill, calculate it like this
Let’s assume that the electricity consumption from all the appliances in your house in a day is 15000 watts (electricity bill from home appliance).
Divide it by 1000 and the result will be 15. That means 15 units of electricity is consumed in your house in a day. For the whole month, it is 450 units. The rate of electricity bill (power tool use) is decided on the basis of whether you live in rural area or urban area.
As per 450 units, the electricity bill for rural area will be around 2000 rupees and for urban area it will be around 2500 rupees. The bill is prepared by adding fixed charge and electricity duty in it.
Know how to save electricity
Now if you want to save electricity, then keep the power tools which are not in use switched off. If there are many high power tools installed in the house, then do not use them all at the same time.
Use LED or CFL instead of bulbs. Keep the temperature of AC around 24 degrees. Do not keep the water heater or geyser on for a long time. Get the AC and motor serviced from time to time.
