Various new projects of Yogi government in 16 cities of Uttar Pradesh, river front and street markets and much more
UP News: Yogi government is going to start many new projects in 16 cities of Uttar Pradesh. The UP government has asked for a budget for this from the central government.

HR Mandi Bhav, Uttar Pradesh: Many new development projects will be launched in 16 cities of Uttar Pradesh. It includes river front, complete streets, large parks, water bodies and lakes. Rs 2218.74 crore will be spent on its development. The state government has sought central budget for these projects.
The Center has agreed to release the budget soon. The Central Government has launched a Special Assistance Scheme for State Investment. The central government has spent Rs 15 thousand crores on this scheme.
The state government has demanded Rs 2,218.74 crore from this budget to develop 16 cities of the state. The letter for this budget was sent to the Center on 21 November 2023 itself. The letter was sent to the Centre. The Center has talked about releasing the budget very soon.
In view of this, the Housing Department has ordered the vice-presidents of 16 cities of the state, where 5 lakh people live, to draft development projects. A demand has been made from the government to provide these projects immediately. So that work on these can start as soon as the Union Budget is received.
There will be work on beautification of big parks, lakes and ponds, water bodies, complete roads and other schemes in cities. On January 8, 2024, the government has also sent a letter to the main town and village planning of the state. They have also been ordered to compile new projects and present them to the government.
Budget will also be available to complete incomplete projects
Some projects that were not completed due to budget constraints will also get funds to be completed in big cities. Also, reports of such projects have been sought.
For the schemes which are currently in progress and require budget, they have been asked to send proposals which include photographs of the concerned scheme.
Asked to implement GIS based master plan
GIS based master plans have also been made in various cities. In some cities the proposal has been passed by the board, but some authorities have not yet completed it.
The board has ordered all authorities to implement it. The government and main city planning have been asked to provide a strong and complete copy of the master plan.
Priority given to these cities
Lucknow, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Agra, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Aligarh, Jhansi, Firozabad, Shikohabad, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar and Mathura Vrindavan are the first. Letters have been sent to these cities, in which reports have been sought from them about the new schemes.
