But do you know that there are some places in India where you are not allowed to buy land. Today we will tell you in which states of India you cannot build a house.
Himachal
It is almost everyone's dream to visit hilly areas. Because the peace and tranquility that is found in the mountains is not found anywhere else. Similarly, every year lakhs of people visit Himachal Pradesh, but here no one has the desire to buy property in the hills.
Permission is not given. According to section 118 of the Land Act of 1972, a non-agriculturist or outsider cannot purchase agricultural land in Himachal Pradesh.
Nagaland
With the formation of the state in the year 1963, there is a provision of Article 371A as a special right of Nagaland, under which buying land there is not allowed.
Cannot buy property in Sikkim
Only the people of Sikkim can buy and sell land in Sikkim. Article 371F of the Constitution provides special privileges to Sikkim.
This article prohibits outsiders from selling and buying agricultural land or property in Sikkim. Not only this, only tribals can buy agricultural land and property in the tribal areas of Sikkim.
In Sikkim, only local people are allowed to buy immovable property. At the same time, only tribals of Sikkim can buy immovable property in tribal areas. However, outsiders can buy agricultural land for industrial building construction.
Impossible to buy land in Arunachal
In Arunachal Pradesh also, people from outside the state are not allowed to buy property. However, agricultural land can be transferred in the state after government permission. Arunachal Pradesh got Article 371A as a special privilege when it became a state in 1963.
According to this, outsiders are not allowed to buy land in the state. Apart from this, there are many rules and regulations related to the purchase and sale of property in Mizoram, Meghalaya and Manipur.
mizoram
In Mizoram too, there is a ban on the purchase and sale of property as per the special provision of Article 371G. Only the tribals of that place have the right to settle here.
Assam
Assam is located in the north-east of India and it is the largest north-eastern state in terms of population while in terms of area it is in second place. Every year lakhs of tourists come here to visit.
People like the environment here so much that they feel like buying their own house or land here. But you cannot do this. Under Article 371B, no outsider can buy land in this state.
Manipur
Every year people like to visit Manipur. But outsiders are prohibited from buying land there. Under Article 371B, only people of Manipur can buy and sell land.
Meghalaya
Meghalaya is surrounded by the beauty of nature. There are many places to visit and stay in Meghalaya as per tourism. But under the special provision of the Constitution, people from outside states cannot buy land there.
No exemption for property purchase in Shillong
In Arunachal Pradesh, the transfer of land belonging to SC/ST and OBC communities is prohibited under Section 46. However, such land can be given to neighbours and people living in the same police station area through a will.
Even in Shillong, outsiders are not allowed to buy property. There are many rules and regulations due to which even the residents of the Northeast cannot buy land in each other's states.
