How much can the salary increase-
The salary and pension of central employees can be revised on the basis of a fitment factor of 3.68. However, the same was decided during the 7th Pay Commission but the fitment factor was set at 2.57. The matrix for the 8th Pay Commission can be prepared using a fitment factor of 1.92.
If the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission are accepted, the minimum salary of central government employees can increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 34,560. This will be an increase of about 92 percent. The minimum pension for pensioners will increase to Rs 17,280.
