On hearing the name of Rajasthan, the first thing that comes to people's mind is the image of the desert. People think that since Rajasthan is full of sand, the farmers there would not be doing gardening like those in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. But this is not the case.

Farmers of Rajasthan are now cultivating banana, apple, orange, amla and date palm using modern methods. This has increased the income of farmers manifold.

The special thing is that now the farmers of Rajasthan are cultivating Taiwanese pink guava, which is in demand not only in the state but also in other states.

In such a situation, today we will talk about a farmer who has surprised everyone by growing Taiwanese pink guava in the desert.

Actually, we are talking about farmer Likhmaram Meghwal. Farmer Likhmaram Meghwal has grown a beautiful orchard of Taiwanese pink guava on barren land with his hard work.

He is earning a lot of money from this every year. Such farmer Likhmaram Meghwal is a resident of Khinvsar in Nagaur district.

His village has sandy soil. There is also a shortage of water. Despite this, he started guava gardening on sandy soil. If Likhmaram is to be believed, he started cultivating Taiwanese pink guava in the year 2020. Initially, he bought Taiwanese guava plants from Lucknow. The price of one plant was Rs 140.

Guava is being produced from 150 plants

Farmer Likhmaram says that he uses only organic manure in the field. Also, he keeps adding vermicompost in the garden from time to time. This helps in the rapid growth of plants.

Also, the distance between the plants in the garden is kept 5 feet by 6 feet, so that the plants get adequate sunlight, air and water. The special thing is that Likhmaram had planted 200 Taiwanese guava plants in the garden in the year 2020. But, about 50 plants dried up. However, guava is being produced from 150 plants.

Production of Taiwanese pink guava will increase further

Last year, farmer Likhmaram plucked 3 kg of guava per plant. But this year its production has increased to 10 kg of Taiwanese pink guava per plant. In this way, he sold about 1500 kg of guava this year, which gave him good income.

According to farmer Likhmaram Meghwal, when the lockdown was imposed during Corona, he used to watch YouTube in his spare time.

It was here that he came to know about cultivating Taiwanese guava. After that he started farming. According to him, the production of Taiwanese pink guava will increase further in the coming years, which will give good income.
